Calgary Dreams Take Flight Society Membership

Becoming a member of the Calgary Dreams Take Flight Society helps support our mission and keeps you connected to our mission.

Memberships on sale until Feb. 28, 2026.

Members:

• Have voting rights at Society meetings, including the AGM
• Agree to and uphold the Society’s Code of Conduct
• Are eligible to run for officer positions
• May apply to become Volunteers

Volunteering with Dreams Take Flight Calgary

Our organization is 100% volunteer run. Each year, a limited number of volunteer positions may be available.

Check back early in the new year when we start accepying new volunteers.

Volunteers:

• Must be a member of our Society (Memberships can be purchased later during the onboarding process)
• Complete our onboarding process, including a phone interview and reference check
• Undergo a Police Vulnerable Persons Check
• Agree to and uphold the Society’s Code of Conduct
• Participate in various fund raising activities throughout the year
• Note: Volunteer hours are tracked and may be used when choosing volunteers who will accompany the children on day of flight

Choosing Volunteers for Day of Flight:

• There are many factors to consider when putting together the volunteer teams for Day of Flight. The Captains and Co captains need to be experienced and proven to be able to manage all the duties. Our team leaders are evaluated every year and we are always on the lookout for potential Captains and CoCaptains.
• The change in the way we fundraise for the trip puts a lot of sponsors on the flight with the kids. It has also greatly decreased the number of volunteer fundraising oportunities
• Once we have Captains, Co Captains and sponsors on, then we have to build the team to match the children. There is much less of an emphasis on Volunteer hours than on getting the right person for the job
